China Daily, established on June 1, 1981, is the only national English language newspaper in China. The paper is printed in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, New York and Jakarta. Its circulation is 200,000, one-third of which is abroad in more than 150 countries and regions. China Daily runs www.chinadaily.com.cn, one of China’s major news websites, which receives 6 million pageviews a day, two-thirds from overseas.
